Research // Career Lanes

Career Tracks // Entry Points

Three career directions still matter. Core Program screening groups them into Software & Infrastructure or Trading & Research, with different technical and behavioral emphasis.

Freshman shortcut: tap , , , , , , and for quick pop-up definitions, or open the Quant Dictionary.

Membership note: General Body uses a short application. Core Program applicants choose a track and go through screening calibrated to that track. Quant Developer maps to Software & Infrastructure; Quant Trader and Quant Researcher map to Trading & Research.

Basic Fit

Qualifications and FAQs

These are suggestions, not a sorting machine. Use them to decide what to try next and what a strong Core Program application should show.

Helpful starting strengths
Curiosity about markets, math, code, or data You do not need to know quant finance already, but you should be able to name something specific you want to understand or build.
Reliability and willingness to learn in public Showing up, asking precise questions, and finishing small commitments matters more than sounding polished.
One early example A notebook, short write-up, class project, GitHub repo, or event takeaway is enough to start a real conversation.
Useful track clues
Software and infrastructure You like implementation quality, debugging, systems, data tooling, or making a project easier to run.
Trading and decision-making You like probability, expected value, risk, and explaining decisions under uncertainty.
Research and modeling You like testing hypotheses, working with data, and writing down what would change your mind.
